Timaru derives its name for the Maori term meaning ‘place of shelter’ and that is what we are providing to those visiting our busy port and holiday resort and for travellers breaking up their South Island road trip with an overnight stay.

Stay Timaru features comfortable and very affordable single and queen bedded guest rooms to choose from - with the option of accommodation with an ensuite bathroom, half-bathroom or shared bathroom amenities.

Providing the perfect home-away-from-home experience – guests have a choice of indoor living areas to use, outdoor chill-out zones, a spacious shared kitchen and laundry facilities during their stay.

Stay Timaru is positioned within walking distance of the town’s centre – with a selection of great restaurants to dine in during your time with us; together with a gym and a selection of shopping options including a supermarket and bottle shop.
